Women Power in Islam – 10. Juni 2008, Dienstag

Auf der Konferenz werden Aktivistinnen und Wissenschaftlerinnen aus aller Welt über die Frage diskutieren, wie Frauenrechte im Islam gestärkt werden können.

This international conference is a follow up of the event in March 2007 in Cologne. Women from different islamic countries and muslim backgrounds discuss pressing questions of patriarchal interpretations of Qur’an and the tradition which have been dominated the history of “tafsir” ever since (with a few exceptions). The event is also meant as an opportunity for muslim women who are committed to promote women’s rights to share their views and experiences.
